Business, New Zealand|2016|02:44|GRob Fyfe is currently the CEO of Icebreaker, an outdoor performance clothing brand specialising in merino wool design and manufacturing. In a distinguished career that has led to him becoming one of the most highly respected businessmen in New Zealand, Rob was previously CEO at Air New Zealand from 2005 to 2012, lifting the iconic New Zealand business from a rife of problems, including under-investment and the failure of subsidiary Ansett Australia. Rob managed the return of the airline to one of the best in the world. He has held previous roles as General Manager of Bank of New Zealand and Executive Officer of ITVDigital, and is currently on the boards of Michael Hill and Antarctica New Zealand. He is also an Advisor to Craggy Range Vineyards Ltd. Rob graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of Canterbury in 1982, and received an honorary doctorate of Commerce from the same institution in 2015. --- Updated 9th March 2019 In June 2017, Icebreaker announced Rob would step down from the CEO role and take over as Chairman. In September 2017, airline company Air Canada appointed Rob to its board of directors. In November 2017, Rob stepped down from Icebreaker's board of directors following its acquisition by retail giant VF Corporation.
