Three people are dead and more than ten others injured after a riot sparked by football rivalry in Honduras. It happened Saturday (August 17) night, just before a match between Olimpia and Motagua football teams - bitter local opponents. According to local police, it started when a bus carrying players of the Motagua team was attacked by suspected fans wearing shirts supporting Olimpia. Rounds of tear gas fired from outside the stadium sent fans charging onto the field for cover. According to the players of the Motagua team, crowds threw stones at their bus, breaking windows and sending shards of glass flying at them. Three of the players were injured in the process and were sent to a hospital with facial wounds. On Sunday (August 18), a funeral was held for one of the victims.
