In this episode, Sophie talks about camera techniques and how they can help you. Starting with shot size, Sophie advises starting with a wide shot to put the animal in context, show its size and surroundings, before moving to a close-up of the face. In a herd situation, Sophie suggest focussing on just one animal. Camera speed is important for drama, for example slowing down a shot when an animal is moving fast. Other tips include keeping your horizon straight, your lens steady, and your eyes open cutaway shots.
