I Quit Hunting to ProtectCulture, Environment|2020|02:27
Recognizing that the Amazon is the lungs of the Earth, World Nomad Andi Brenner visits the local people of Mocagua, Colombia, who have given up hunting to protect the forest and its inhabitants. Swapping weapons for cameras, pencils, paper and GPS, the former hunters have become environmental researchers, documenting the forest and the animals that live there. Before, they hunted the primates which were vital to the forest as seed dispersers, including the seeds of hardwood trees which absorb the most carbon. Since hunting was banned and the animal were protected, the forest will endure for their community and generations to come.
