People the Size of a Fist - Part 2
Culture|2012|25:43|M CSVIn a forest camp of the Baka Pygmies deep in the rainforest in South-Eastern Cameroon, Sergey and the film crew felt like travelling back to primeval times. The crew documented the traditional lifestyle of those people based on harmony with nature that gives them every right to call themselves children of the forest. They still use spears and nets for hunting, cure their sick with ointment made of burned crust, water and animal fat, tell fortunes on genette skin, chip their teeth and adorn women's faces with razor cuts, recount to their children the same legends their grandparents heard when they were young. The film culminates in hunting elephant. Sergey Yastrzhembskiy got the permit to film the big hunt from one of the Cameroonian hunting companies. Accompanied by children of the forest, he spent two days chasing the forest giant and revealing the secrets kept by the Pygmies for thousands of years.
