Adam and Shirley Murphy's house is a beer shrine - this middle-aged couple have collected more than 11,000 cans over 20 years. And they are not finished yet! After touring their beer-filled house, we follow them to the 25th Anniversary Canathon where beer can collectors from all over the world gather to swap and trade. Beer can collectors are just one example of people afflicted by Beer mania. From the Latin bere - to drink - this ubiquitous beverage has developed its own sub-culture. Collectors of cans, bottles and memorabilia, home and pub brewers, beer judges, brewing historians and plenty more are fascinated by the wider world of the amber. The recent surge in interest in all things beer has even created its own literary niche; the beer writer. We meet one of the pioneers of this new type of journalism and discover how the public have reacted. We also meet an economist who focussed his entire PhD study on the history of brewing.
