The swift move to Alert Level 4 during the COVID-19 pandemic meant almost overnight New Zealand businesses and organisations had to support stakeholders in a ‘new normal’. For AUT CIO Liz Gosling, that meant supporting its staff of almost 3,000 people in working from home, in addition to moving teaching and learning to the online environment. The move to online learning also required considerable work around digital equity, in order to ensure all students had access to both broadband connectivity and suitable devices. Liz will talk about agility in a large organisation, putting users at the centre of planning to ensure both students and staff had the support they needed, informed both by her role as CIO and as the head of AUT’s Emergency Management Team.
