Recipe: Curry (Japanese)2020|01:00
In Japan, curry is so popular that it's considered one of Japan's national dishes, ahead of sushi and miso soup. To the japanese, hot and spicy food is preferred during summertime because many believe that spices cool you down by making you perspire as well as help stimulate your appetite. While it's most likely that curry was first introduced to Japan in the 1800s when Anglo-Indian explorers of the British Empire first came into contact with the Japanese, the curry from back then compared with the Japanese curry of today is world's apart. Since the invention of Vermont Curry mix, which added honey and apple concentrate, Japanese curry today is much more mild and sweet compared to the spicy curry of the past.
