Lyall Minhinnick - Young Ambassador Chef FinalistEntertainment, Food, New Zealand|2021|08:17|G
Watch as three of New Zealand's best young chefs battle it out in the kitchen for a chance to be crowned as Beef + Lamb New Zealand’s very first Young Ambassador Chef. Next up, is six60 fan, and passionate forager, Lyall Minhinnick. Lyall has loved cooking since he was a young boy watching his nana cook for him and his poppa. The smells and aromas drifting from the kitchen, spiced meats, fried bread, syrup, are some of his fondest memories; and what gave him the passion to cook. After finishing his hospitality course at Manakau Polytech by chance, he stumbled upon a hidden gem and a lifechanging opportunity. Two and a half years ago Lyall and his family were touring the South Island on their way to six60's concert in Dunedin when they were searching for the best seafood place to eat. Somehow, they ended up several hours up the road at Fleurs Place in Moeraki. Lyall retuned after the concert and has never left. Lyall says it ""would be a dream come true to win this competition"". Follow along as he battles it out in a high-pressure 90 minute cook-off, while current Beef + Lamb Ambassador Chefs Tejas Nikam, Phil Clark, Norka Mella Munoz and Jack Crosti judge his skills to see which of the three finalists will be crowned winner.
