Artist uses skin as her canvas for amazing artworks01:39
This artist has an unusual canvas for her delicately created artworks - her own skin. Dubai-based artist Randa Haddadin uses non-toxic ink pen, body paint, and different kinds of makeup to create her amazing designs. Her works, which are inspired by, “cities and urban contexts, people and fashion", include portraits, as well as cityscapes featuring well-known landmarks in places including Florence, London, and Paris. Describing the process, Randa, who was born in the Soviet Union in 1985, explains: “This temporariness gives the whole process of creation a lot of freedom, you don't worry about how to preserve the artwork, how to sell it, where to keep it, which allows you to only focus on the process of drawing itself, feel each stroke and line and be fully present." "The only thing I do to preserve a memory of this skin artwork is snap a photo and share it with others.” Randa, who had 194,000 Instagram followers as of August 2021, has worked with leading fashion brands such as Vacheron Constantin, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Armani, Valentino and Roberto Cavalli. She also sells her art from her website randahaddadin.com.
