5 Point play?! The rarest NBA moments ever2021|03:55
Jamal Crawford is the king of 4 point plays, we all know that, but even he has never had a 5 point play that Kyrie Irving was once able to pull off. Gets the pass from Horford raises up from downtown and hits it- plus the foul. Then at the line, misses the free throw but the ball bounces straight to him and Kyrie is able to convert the layup. A rare and unconventional 5 point play. And when talking about rare NBA moments, this seemingly basic dunk is as rare of a highlight as they get. During JJ Reddick’s 16 year career so far, in around a 1000 games he’s appeared, this is the 1 and only dunk that he’s successfully completed. I’m sure he has a 4k resolution copy of it playing 24/7 on a screen in his house. So let’s check out some other moments that you don’t see often in the league. What up everybody, my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it. Speaking of 1 time things, Shaq was 1/22 in his career from downtown so here is the 1 and only three he made. End of the quarter, the long pass, O’Neal comes out for it, turnaround shot and banks it in, sending the crowd into a frenzy. And when talking about 3 pointers, you know who’s the first guy that comes to mind. Steph Curry is so incapable of missing a 3, that he once made one when he was supposed to inbound the ball. As you can see with .2 on the clock the intent is clear. The lob to Iguodala. But when you have Steph launching that thing, it’s going straight to the bottom of the net. Obviously the basket didn’t count but they all got a great kick out of it. Curry’s attempt however is nothing compared to Jae Crowder who banked one in from the other baseline. Just look at the ball flying the entire length of the court. Amazing. Unfortunately since again this didn’t count, it can only be mentioned as an unofficial record for the longest NBA shot. The official one however is held by Baron Davis, and here it is: a 1 handed heave from his own basket that still stands as the longest made shot in NBA history. And while on this topic, let me show you a wild long range shot. During his short stint in Orlando, Gilbert Arenas let it fly from the other free throw line, the ball bounces off the rim, off the shot clock and in. Crazy. But of course the shot clock is out of bounds unfortunately, so again this didn’t count. Russell Westbrook had an even more insane bounce that came on a dunk. Just look at how high the ball goes before returning down in a straight line. This didn’t touch anything so it was good despite almost leaving the atmosphere. Every angle of this dunk looks awesome so shoutout to Westbrook. Watch this rim roll on a Josh Richardson shot that has to be the longest one ever. The closeup of this is especially hypnotizing as you can see. But the funniest thing to me here is the way over the top and overexcited reaction by Richardson himself. This is hilarious, but fortunately for him, he eventually got his 2 points. And finally a 1 in a million shot from 1994 that some of the younger fans may not have seen. Isaiah Rider gets a bad pass and tries to save the ball from going out of bounds. Not even looking, the dude hit a three from almost half court falling out of bounds. To me this is the perfect way to end a video of this kind. Let me know in the comments if you know of some other rare and special moments like these. That’s it for now.
